The album is made up of previously unreleased material recorded during Wagoner and Parton's duet years (1967–76), with new studio overdubs. With his Hank Williams-inspired brand of honky-tonk, Wagoner was a mainstay of the country charts from the early '50s all the way through to the early 80's, and has remained a constant presence at the Grand Old Opry.
